FREEHOLD – A Union Beach man faces a potential three-year prison sentence after he admitted to streaming child pornography over the Internet.

Joseph Gentile, 43, pleaded guilty Monday to endangering the welfare of a child, a second-degree charge. He is to be sentenced May 6.

Gentile was arrested in March by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit, which had received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. That tip revealed that Gentile streamed a video showing the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child over an online video chat service on Nov. 23, 2014, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Gentile could be sentenced to up 10 years in prison. As part of his plea agreement, however, the prosecution has agreed to seek a three-year term. He will also be subject to the terms of Megan’s Law.
