Shooting in Cliffwood Beach leaves one dead

A 22-year-old Old Bridge man was found shot to death Sunday night in the Cliffwood Beach neighborhood of Aberdeen, authorities confirmed.

Aberdeen police responded to a 911 call at 9:44 p.m. Sunday, reporting a young deceased male in the area of 2 Ocean Boulevard, which is a parking lot, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Charlie Webster said. Upon arrival police located an individual, identified as William H. Karecki, who had sustained gunshot wounds. He was “obviously deceased,” Webster said.

No arrests have been made. The Prosecutor’s Office and Aberdeen police are investigating, Webster said.

Karecki was one of three people charged in July with beating and robbing a man in a Toms River motel, according to an NJ.com report. The victim was the ex-boyfriend of one of the suspects, according to authorities.
