Scenes from the Keyport Christmas Tree Lighting

Christmas Tree 2015

KEYPORT, Nov. 28 — With the quick flip of a switch a plain pine tree about 12 feet tall transformed into a holiday spectacle at the Mini Park plaza.

The tree, which was grown in Monroe Township, is paid for by the Keyport Bayfront Business Cooperative.

A light drizzle dampened the air, but not the mood. Inside Borough Hall, the Central School band and chorous played and sang seasonal tunes. Outside, James Gallo — DJ Sway — played Christmas music.

Three of Santa Claus’ helpers, Janet Gallo, Taylor Sheridan and Christina Calvanico Greenberg, arrived ahead of Santa Claus to pose for photos.

Hot chocolate and apple cider was served.
